1. Getting Started — Authentication & Onboarding

How to Register

• Email & Password: Go to the Sign Up page and enter your name, email address, and a password (minimum 6 characters). Your email is your primary login identifier.
• Facebook SSO (Single Sign-On): Click "Continue with Facebook" to log in using your Facebook account. This automatically pulls your name and profile and creates an account instantly — no password needed.

Logging In

• You can log in with your registered email, an optional secondary login email (configurable in Settings), or your username.
• If you signed up with Facebook and want to set a password later (e.g., for email-based login), go to Settings → Security → Set Password.

Onboarding & Profile Completion

• After first login, a guided onboarding flow will walk you through connecting your Instagram account.
• We recommend visiting Settings immediately after signup to complete your profile with your Surname, WhatsApp Phone Number, and Timezone to ensure your scheduled posts and AI notifications work correctly. You can also join our WhatsApp Community Channel for live updates.

2. Connecting Your Instagram

Requirements

• You must have an Instagram Business or Creator account (not a personal account).
• Your Instagram account must be linked to a Facebook Page you manage. This is a Meta requirement for API access.

Auto-Sync Process

When you log in with Facebook, the system automatically:

1. Fetches all Facebook Pages you manage.
2. Detects the Instagram Business Account linked to each Page.
3. Securely connects them to your InstaGenius AI account.
4. Captures your high-resolution Facebook profile picture for instant personalization.

Token Security

• We store an encrypted, long-lived access token (valid for ~60 days) that lets us post on your behalf.
• A background service automatically monitors token expiry and attempts silent refreshes so you are never unexpectedly disconnected.
• If a token expires and cannot be refreshed, you will be prompted to reconnect.

Account Limits

• The number of Instagram accounts you can connect simultaneously depends on your subscription plan. See the Pricing Page for the current limits per plan.

Pausing & Reconnecting

• Accounts can be temporarily paused from the Accounts section — this suspends posting but keeps the connection alive.
• If the connection is broken (e.g., you changed your Facebook password), use the "Reconnect" button in the Accounts section.

Key Requirements

The AI Visual Studio is a professional-grade canvas for creating high-fidelity AI images to use in your posts.

Generating AI Images

• Enter a prompt describing the image you want. Use the AI Prompt Enhancer to improve a basic description into a cinema-quality prompt.
• Choose your aspect ratio: 1:1 (Square post), 4:5 (Portrait post), 9:16 (Story/Reel cover).
• Choose a fidelity style: Commercial (clean product-style) or Cinematic (editorial/filmic).
• Standard AI Image: Generates a clean background image. Costs credits per generation.
• Premium AI Image (Product Integration): Combines your uploaded product photo with a generated background — ideal for e-commerce. Costs more credits due to higher model complexity.

Credit Cost for Image Generation

• Generation is run asynchronously in the background. You will receive a Job ID and can check progress — this prevents page timeouts on complex renders.
• Credit deduction happens upfront before generation begins. If generation fails, please contact support for a refund.

Image Variations

• You can request multiple image variations in one generation (e.g., 4 different versions of the same prompt). Each variation multiplies the credit cost.

⚠️ Note: Image generation uses Google Vertex AI (Imagen). Due to Meta-level content safety policies, prompts are sanitized automatically to prevent policy violations.

3. AI Structure Generation: The AI produces a full slide-by-slide plan — each slide gets a headline, body text, and image prompt suggestion. This step costs credits.

Carousel Rules (Instagram)

• Minimum 2 slides, maximum 10 slides.

Step 1 — Reel Blueprint

• Enter your topic and desired duration (15s, 30s, 60s, or 90s).
• The AI generates a full scene-by-scene blueprint: shot composition, narration, B-roll suggestions, and on-screen text ideas.
• No credits required for blueprint generation.

Step 2 — AI Video Generation

• Once you have a blueprint, you can trigger AI Video Generation from the prompt.
• This runs in the background as a long-running task (up to several minutes). You can navigate away and come back — the result will be ready.

Step 3 — Audio Mixing

• Once your video is generated, optionally add a background audio track from our library.
• You can control the video volume and audio volume separately (0–100%).

• The system auto-optimizes your video for Instagram's format requirements before uploading.
• Posts directly to Instagram as a native Reel.

• Maximum duration: 90 seconds.

How It Works

14. AI Brand Kit

Your AI Brand Kit is the core identity store that every AI tool references when generating content.

What to Configure

• Brand Name & Tagline: The AI incorporates these naturally into captions and strategy suggestions.
• Brand Voice: Choose from predefined tones (Witty, Authoritative, Friendly, Luxurious) or write your own custom voice description.
• Primary Niche: Your content category (Fashion, Food, Fitness, Technology, Jewellery, etc.).
• Color Palette: Define your brand's hex colors — the AI uses these when generating visuals.
• Logo Upload: Your logo is stored in cloud storage (S3) and auto-applied as a watermark in Festival Studio outputs.
• Target Audience: Describe your ideal customer (age group, interests, location, language).

Caption Watermarking

• By default, free-tier users have "Made with InstaGenius" appended to copied captions. You can toggle this off in Settings → Caption Branding.

15. Content Library

The Content Library is your central archive of every piece of content created within InstaGenius AI.

What's Stored

• All AI-generated images (stored permanently in cloud storage).
• All posts — drafts, scheduled posts, published posts, and failed posts.
• All AI-generated captions, hashtag sets, and Reel blueprints linked to each content item.

Filtering & Sorting

• Filter by status: Draft, Scheduled, Posted, Failed, Processing.
• Filter by type: Post, Story, Reel, Carousel.
• Filter by account (if you manage multiple Instagram accounts).
• Sort by most recent or scheduled date.

Content Actions

• Edit / Resume: Modify the caption, hashtags, or scheduled time. If it is an AI-generated draft, clicking "Resume" or "Edit" will re-open it in its original Studio (e.g., Carousel Builder, Reels Director) with all settings, prompts, and layouts fully restored so you can continue where you left off.
• Post Now: Instantly publish any Draft or Scheduled item.
• Delete: Remove the content record (the media files remain in cloud storage for safety).
• Duplicate: Clone any existing content item as a new draft.

Drafts and Quotas

Saving a post as a Draft or Scheduled post does not consume your monthly posting quota. Your quota is only consumed when the post is successfully Published to Instagram. This means you can create unlimited drafts!

16. Post Scheduling & Publishing

How Scheduling Works

1. Create your content (image, caption, hashtags).
2. Select a future date and time for the post.
3. The system creates a scheduled job that fires at the exact specified time and posts to Instagram via the API.
4. You'll receive a notification when the post is successfully published (or if it fails).

Optimal Time Suggestions

• Click the "Suggest Best Time" button when scheduling — the AI analyzes your account's historical engagement patterns to recommend the highest-impact time slots.
• For new accounts without enough history, the AI uses niche-level benchmarks.

Post Status Flow

Draft → Scheduled → Processing → Posted ✅
                              → Failed ❌ (retried automatically)

Last-Action Dominance (Rescheduling)

To prevent accidental duplicate posts, InstaGenius AI uses a Last-Action Dominance logic.

• If you reschedule a post that is already in the queue, the system automatically cancels the old scheduled job and replaces it with the new one.
• Similarly, clicking "Post Now" on an already scheduled item will immediately publish the content and cleanly remove the pending job from the queue.
• Session Persistence: When you "Resume" a draft, the system tracks its unique identity. Any updates you save will overwrite the existing draft/schedule instead of creating a duplicate record in your library.

17. Credits & Billing

What Are Credits?

Credits are the internal currency for computationally intensive AI tasks — primarily AI image and video generation.

High-Precision "Micro-Costs"

For automated features, we use high-precision billing (supporting up to 4 decimal places). This allows you to pay only for what you use:

⚠️ Cost Accuracy: We use 4-decimal precision (e.g. 0.0001) to ensure you are billed fairly for tiny tasks. Credit costs may be adjusted by the admin based on server costs.

Subscription Expiration

• Automatic Downgrade: If your subscription is not renewed by its expiry date, your account will automatically transition to the Free Tier.
• Usage Limits: Your monthly post and image limits will be reset to the Free tier defaults immediately upon expiration.
• Data Safety: We do not delete your posts, library, or analytics when a plan expires. You can still access your historical data and upgrade again at any time.
• Credit Preservation: Any unspent AI Credits you purchased as a separate pack never expire and will remain in your account even on the Free tier.

⚠️ Credit costs may be adjusted by the admin at any time. Always check the billing screen for the current cost before generating.

How Monthly Credits Work

• Subscribers on paid plans receive a fresh credit grant at the start of each billing cycle.
• Annual subscribers receive 12 months' worth of credits upfront at the time of purchase.
• Unused credits from one month do not roll over (unless you purchase additional credit packs, which never expire).

What Happens When You Run Out?

• You will see an error: "Insufficient credits."
• Standard AI tasks (captions, hashtags, scheduling) will continue to work.
• You can purchase additional credit packs from the Billing section at any time.

Credit History

• Go to Billing → Credit History to see a full log of every credit transaction: grants, deductions, purchases, and admin grants.

• Timezone: CRITICAL: Set your local timezone to ensure scheduled posts fire at the correct local time and Weekly Digests arrive when you expect them.

Notifications & High-Precision Billing

Toggle individual notification types on or off. Note that AI-powered and automated alerts consume micro-credits (e.g., 0.0001 per email) as specified in the Credits & Billing section:

• Email Alerts: Standard system notifications.
• Post Published Confirmation: Immediate confirmation email when your content goes live on Instagram.
• Weekly Digest Summary: An AI-generated report summarizing your performance and providing growth tips from the past 7 days.
